Job Description
What’s the focus of this position?
This position is designed primarily to work in developing our students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is outworked through teaching within a classroom capacity, but also by leading groups or clubs to further enrich these areas of interest in our Junior School (Kindergarten to Year Four) students.
What you’ll be doing:
The Junior School STEM Teacher is responsible for:
Preparation for and teaching of STEM classes focused on the design and technology outcomes within the Science syllabus and links to Mathematics.
Oversight and development of curriculum to ensure a high standard of teaching and compliance with NESA requirements, including transition to any new curriculum.
Administration of, and participation in, various activities designed to develop the skills of students who demonstrate passion for STEM within the College, including co-curricular interest groups.
Collaborating with colleagues across the College to promote a thorough Scope & Sequence and development of skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Maintaining and developing resources which allow students to build their skills in STEM.
Maintaining current knowledge and skills in STEM in order to promote the development of STEM in the Junior School.
Teaching other subjects as required, primarily in Junior School but may include teaching in other sub-schools.
You will be required to carry out other duties that are within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as directed by the Head of Junior School or the College Principal.

The ability to demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
Approval to teach as recognised by NESA.
Proven experience and expertise in STEM.
To possess positive classroom management skills and a desire to pastorally support and disciple the students.
To possess a high level of interpersonal skills, leading to constructive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
A proven capacity to work effectively in a team and to actively lead and support team members.
Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and oral.
Other valuable skills you may have:
Other skills and experience in related fields.
Well-developed administrative skills, including a proven ability in curriculum documentation.
Willingness to engage with students across extra-curricular activities.

We will partner with you to support your performance and ongoing development to ensure you are fully prepared for future challenges as this position and our organisation adapts and grows. This position is full time, however part-time may be considered. The role is commencing at the beginning of Term One, 2026. The current hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:15am – 4:15pm.
