Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer (0.60 FTE, 3–4 days) to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, this role is part of our Central Office (corporate finance team) and, while based on-site at one of our schools, provides accounts payable support across the entire organisation.

In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring compliance with financial policies and supporting strong relationships with suppliers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Process invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and staff reimbursements
  • Assist with processing of supplier payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure transactions comply with financial policies and legislation
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Support audit preparation and reconciliations
  • Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including following safe work practices, taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others, and supporting a safe and healthy workplace.

Customer Service

  • Respond to supplier and internal queries promptly
  • Build strong, professional relationships across the organisation

Team Contribution

  • Support the broader finance team as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes

About You

You are a reliable and organised finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

Technical Skills

  • Experience with financial or ERP systems (TASS or similar desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field (desirable)
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role
  • Experience in a school or not-for-profit environment highly regarded
