We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our Gosford campus starting Monday 4th May 2026.

Job Description

General: 
•    Follow all policies, procedures and guidelines as outlined in the Staff Handbook
•    Attend all Staff meetings as required 
•    Attend professional learning events as required 
•    Other duties and activities as required from time to time by the Principal

Kitchen Duties
•    Oversee the preparation of materials, produce and equipment for practical and demonstration lessons in consultation with TAS/VET Teaching staff
•    Adhere to Food Safety Standards, correct storage of food, and Food Labelling Laws in the Kitchen
•    Ensure the collation of food allergies/intolerance/dietary requirements of students and source substitutions/recipes to best cater for these needs
•    Work with staff to ensure the upkeep of the kitchen and equipment to ensure it is well organised, clean and safe
•    Store and maintain materials and chemicals in accordance with WHS and TAS department requirements
•    Obtain and keep up-to-date relevant Data Safety Records and the Hazardous Substance register 
•    Obtain and keep up-to-date records of equipment supply and maintenance and undertake periodic stocktake of equipment and supplies 
•    Report maintenance requirements to the Instructional Leader of TAS and/or using the correct resolution procedure 
•    Assist with the development of routines to ensure that all kitchen surfaces are clean, cupboards are clean, tidy, stocked and labelled as required 
•    As directed and in consultation with TAS/VET staff, source, order, receipt and store supplies to maintain stock levels 
•    Assist with the online sourcing and purchasing process for all TAS/VET food subjects and Hospitality (including Hospitality at Dynamic Learning). 
•    Assist with the preparation of special events relating to the TAS/VET department such as Subject Selection Evening 
•    Oversee the maintenance of TAS/VET personal protective equipment and laundering as required 

The essentials you’ll need:
•    A passion to promote the Christian vision and ethos of the school and broader organisation
•    The ability to demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ
•    A high level of interpersonal skills leading to constructive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
•    A proven capacity to work effectively in a team and to actively support team members
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively and professionally deal with people at all levels 
•    Strong problem solving, time management, attention to detail and multitasking skills 
•    Ability to work autonomously and to be proactive 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

•    NSW Food Safety Certificate 
•    First Aid Certification
