Job Description

The Cleaner will be a committed Christian who will demonstrate adaptability and resilience with the ability to manage work related pressures in a positive and enthusiastic manner. 

The person will have strong interpersonal skills and a hardworking dedicated attitude.

This position is for 2-3 days per week - 4 hours per day.

Working hours are between 16:00 - 24:00 Term time and daytime hours during School Holidays.

The College reserves the right to close the advertisement early should a suitable candidate be identified. 

As the Cleaner you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
  • Cleaning of classroom furniture – tables, chairs, cupboards.
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
  • Cleaning and maintaining of cleaning equipment.
  • Cobweb and mildew control, window washing, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
  • Dusting and wiping down of student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
  • Removal of graffiti.
  • Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
  • Vinyl/timber floor maintenance including buffing, stripping and polishing.
  • Other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Principal/Business Manager.

Security

  • Activating and disarming school security systems as required.
  • Locking and unlocking buildings.

Desired Skills and Experience

To undertake the position of cleaner you will be required to have:

  • Experience in cleaning services.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform manual labour, particularly repetitive tasks. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to enable professional interactions within a team of cleaners.
  • Be a team player and develop positive relationships with staff and volunteers.
