Job Description

This position will be to support the administrative needs of the Health Centre. The role will include delivering First Aid when required. The position is Mon - Fri during Term Time. 

St Philip's Christian College Cessnock reserve the right to interview and fill the position early if a suitable candidate is found.

Start date for the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Administration Assistant is a committed Christian who will assist with clerical and administrative support in order to facilitate the effective and efficient organisation of the office. This person must have strong interpersonal skills and a hardworking and dedicated attitude

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Work daily in our Health Centre working with the College Registered Nurses to provide appropriate First Aid and care to students.
  • Communicate with parents/carers as required via the appropriate communication channels.
  • Update student information according to record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant staff as needed: including Executive Assistant (or their delegate), Sub School Administrators, Heads of School, Assistant Heads of School, Teaching Staff.
  • Provide and/or assist in the triaging/administering of students First Aid/medication needs and communicate effectively within the College Health Centre as required, ensuring accurate notes are recorded in TASS.
  • Ensuring all First Aid and Duty bags are restocked regularly and are ready for excursions and/or Camps.
  • Assist with data entry and/or administrative duties as directed.
  • Other tasks that will facilitate efficient day-to-day operations in the College.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Displays qualities of a committed and growing Christian who is an active church member.
  • Qualifications in business administration and / or equivalent experience in an office setting.
  • Highly developed time management skills. 
  • High level detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects including the organisation of events and functions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people including senior management, staff, students and community members.
  • Well-developed keyboard and computer skills with a demonstrated knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and some experience with graphic design programs.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Current First Aid Certificate is desirable. Training will be provided if you do not currently hold this qualification.
