St Philip's Christian College - Dynamic Learning offers a tailored learning program for children and young individuals diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and/or Autism (Level 1 & 2). FOCUS OF THIS POSITION
The Head of Campus is responsible to assist the Dynamic Learning Principal in the development and day-to-day running of the school. The Head of Campus is the team leader of
their campus staff and is directly accountable to the Principal / Director for pastoral care, educational administration operations, and for curriculum operations.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Develop, promote and maintain the ethos of the College;
- Be the team leader of the campus staff, and thus to be responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and development of their responsibilities, with reference to teaching and learning, pastoral care and educational administration;
- In conjunction with the Principal / Director of Studies and other Heads of Campus, and as part of the Dynamic Learning Leadership Team, to be responsible for the College policy monitoring, evaluation and development of the Curriculum areas of the College;
- Liaise and develop systems with the Principal and other Heads of Campus for any matter that effects the operations and/or development of
the whole College – in particular, College level governance policies and procedures (Child Protection, Occupational Health and Safety, Educational KPI policies etc.);
- Manage all accountabilities (College and various levels of Government) that relate to the proper running and development of their Campus;
- Not exceed any executive limitations that are placed on this position, as determined by the Principal in policy and procedural documentation;
- Involvement and leadership in other aspects of the wider life of the College, as directed by the Principal;
- Responsible for the staff of their respective campus in the oversight of development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum;
- Oversee and monitor the quality of delivery in classrooms of Teaching & Learning programs;
- Oversee maintenance of all teaching records including programs and registers;
- Check that teachers are on schedule with Scope and Sequences and assessment;
- Ensure that NESA enrolment requirements are met for all students, including facilitating the HSC ‘All My Own Work’ program. (Consult with Director of Studies);
- Deliver N-determination warning letters and process student academic appeals in consultation with Director of Studies;
- Facilitate external examinations undertaken by College students as part of their school study, such as NAPLAN and HSC examinations. (Consult with Director of Teaching and Learning);
- Support academically at-risk students by facilitating consultation with Learning Support Coordinator and Director of Teaching and Learning, with input from teacher and WA;
- Maintain a working understanding of all NESA and other regulatory obligations with particular emphasis on student patterns of study;
- Collaborate with teachers, (incl. learning support teachers) to review academic data;
- Support teachers to respond to data and implement required changes in the classroom;
- Monitor progress and quality of reports and liaise with Director of Studies where there is an issue;
- Oversee NCCD data collection at their campus;
- Oversee effective creation and implementation of IPs and PLPs at the campus;
- Ensure staff develop a Christian Biblical foundation for all teaching and learning;
- Ensure indigenous outcomes are embedded in the programs with support from Indigenous Cultural Education Coordinator;
- Ensure that program adjustments, annotations and adjustments are kept up to date by campus staff (at least Termly formal checks);
- Ensure Classwork is on iLearn with support from Director of Studies
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safe and caring management of all the activities of the children and staff;
- Take on other whole College management responsibilities and accountabilities as determined by the Principal;
- Provide an open and supportive environment with children and parents that reflects the relational ethos of the College;
- Be accountable to the Principal for the development, planning and implementation of the Dynamic Learning College programs and events;
- Manage all the accountabilities (College and School level, and various levels of Government) that relate to the proper running and development of a Dynamic Learning College;
- The development, discipling and management of the Dynamic Learning College staff;
- Undertake ongoing professional development;
- Work in conjunction with other members of the leadership of the College for the active promotion and development of the College and with any other staff members whose work impinges on
the running and development of the College, and vice-versa;
- Liaise with the appropriate colleagues in matters of student wellbeing, curriculum and educational administration;
- Deputise for the Principal as required;
- Undertake other leadership and teaching responsibilities at the College as required by the Principal;
- Manage the campus budget in a way that is in alignment with the strategic vision of the Dynamic Learning College;
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety;
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others;
- Comply with any reasonable instructions, policies and procedures given by your supervisor;
- Make appropriate and informed decisions about health and safety that may affect work activities, or other people;
- Ensure legal requirements regarding health and safety are met;
- Action safety reports and carry out workplace inspections
- Ensure safe work practices;
- Conduct inductions and regular safety briefings;
- Participate in incident investigations;
- Lead by example and promote health and safety at every opportunity;
