Job Description
The Maintenance Officer works as part of a team to ensure that the College grounds, buildings, plant and equipment are well maintained, well presented, physically secure, compliance with all appropropriate regulations, and provide a safe enviornment for the College community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Undertake maintenance jobs as directed and in accordance with College priorities, policies and guidelines, including but not limited to:
Joinery
Carpentry
Repairing furniture
Doors and locks
Lights
Vehicles
Plant and equipment
Respond to urgent situations requiring cleaning and/or repairs.
Lock and unlock gates, ensuring all areas of the college are unlocked at the beginning of each school day and secured at the end of the school day.
Complete all scheduled, cyclical preventative maintenance jobs as directed.
Assist in event set up and pack down.
Perform general landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and applying fertilizers and pesticides safely.
As part of the maintenance team, ensure the school grounds are kept neat, clean and tidy and report any damage, hazards, vandalization, theft or loss of equipment to Supervisor.
Operate and maintain all tools and equipment in a safe and operational conditional necessary to carry out job function and responsibilities.
Any other reasonable direction that is within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as given by your Principal or Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
An active relationship with Christ, evidenced in day to day conduct and in church involvement.
Sound communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with leaders, staff, students and the broader community.
Computer literacy, including intermediate ability in Microsoft Office.
Current and valid driver’s license.
