Job Description
The Librarian is a committed Christian who's role will encourage a love of reading in students by introducing them to fantastic books and ensuring that the library provides the support and resources required to both staff and students.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Reading to, and sometimes borrowing for, junior school classes in 20-minute sessions each week.
Assisting in the day to day running of the library, including cataloguing, covering new books, borrowing, locating resources, returns, reshelving, stocktaking, etc.
Assisting with the planning and delivery of library events, including craft club and author visits.
Supervising students during lunch and recess times in the middle school library.
Other tasks that will facilitate efficient day-to-day operations in the College.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & QUALITIES
A certificate III in Library and Information Studies
Be a committed Christian and an active church member.
Uphold and support the mission, core values, vision, policies and aims of the College.
Be passionate about Christian education.
A current paid Working With Children Check.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
Maintain and build upon your professional expertise by participating in appropriate professional development courses.
Lead by example with high professional standards in all aspects of College life.
Demonstrate a high level of communication skills and demonstrate effective collaboration.
Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills and strategies.
Demonstrate a high level of organisational proficiency.
Maintain high standards and have a calm and methodical approach.
Multi-task, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Represent the College in a positive manner to the wider school community.
